Guests now can buy riverfront land and / or "Jungle Condos"

Something new….  As the result of many requests from our previous guests, Bart & Suzi are also dedicating the off season to “gently” developing the rest of their 1/3 mile of riverside property. Bart explains that friendships have evolved with many of the guests who returned over and over with their families.  Some of them developed a desire join in their laid-back life-style and to own land adjacent to the lodge. One set of former guests have developed four very high quality Jungle Condos on adjacent land sold to them by the Micklers.  Now Bart is presenting the two properties.

Don’t worry, Bart and Suzi still find time to enjoy this little bit of paradise in which they live.  You are likely to find them in the evening on the river canoeing or enjoying a smoothie by the pool, tending the gardens and grounds and enjoying its fruits…

Thatching Roofs at Maya Mountain
Adding new thatchOctober has been a busy refurbishing month here at Maya Mountain.
Rainy days are not good for painting, so it's been a bit tricky finding days on which we can paint. Nevertheless, progress is being made and we will soon be back in one piece and ready for the season. The most impressive endeavor undertaken this month is the thatching of two cottages.  The Toucan, seen here, got it's beautiful new green hat through the hand-crafting efforts of several thatchers.  In the process, they replaced many of the roof 'sticks', harvested the leaves from the jungle, and, despite intermittent rain, carefully wove them from the bottom to the top in about four days of constant work.  Maya Mountain Lodge will be officially open and ready to receive guests on November first.

Week starting May 5th and November 10th, 2007
